Dr John Blowers appointed a Patron of The Prostate Project

Thoroughly deserved honour for a tireless fund raiser.

We are delighted to announce that John Blowers, the Godalming GP who has single handedly raised more money for us than anyone else, has accepted the post of Patron of the Prostate Project.

John has worked tirelessly for us and other local charities over the past 5 years and since his retirement in September last year has been working ever harder. “I have accepted this honour on the proviso that I can continue to do something worthwhile for The Prostate Project” said John.

“My serious fundraising days climbing mountains are probably over now (the knees won’t take it any more!) so I plan to concentrate my efforts on galvanising greater interest in prostate cancer among my fellow GPs and in particular, encourage them to fully recognise the importance and value of regular PSA testing”.

We can’t think of anyone better suited to this most important task.
