Injuring his knee on the first day of a strenuous 21 day trek to Kanchenjunga base camp in aid of the Prostate Project was not the start that John wanted. But being the intrepid climber he has now become, he battled through with his two companions encountering some pretty hairy obstacles along the way, including thick snow ( so heavy they had to evacuate their tent during the night for fear of it collapsing on them) very poor visibility and a horrific traverse across an unstable landslide.

John said on his return “I think this might be the moment to pause and take stock as my adventures are taking their toll not only on my knees but also on the pockets and sympathy of my friends and patients!

John returned triumphant to host a champagne supper and Quiz at Milford and Villages Day Centre, which he had helped found in 1997. His fund raising target was £8000 and after the quiz evening he was just £237 short. Something tells us that that money will be found from somewhere.

Very many thanks John for all your outstanding fund raising for The Prostate Project. A truly remarkable solo effort.
