Royal Surrey Chief Executive confirms importance of charitable donations

Matthew Swindells, the Royal Surrey County Hospitals new Chief Executive, gave an interesting presentation to our Committee in January outlining the progress that had been made at RSCH since his appointment and stressing the importance of charitable contributions to the hospital's annual budget.

In fact, a staggering 50 per cent of the Royal Surrey's annual capital expenditure is funded from this source. Looking at Matthew's ambitious plans for the next 5 years it is easy to see why support such as that provided by the Prostate Project is vital to him achieving his targets.

Over the past 4 years we have donated equipment and services to RSCH and Frimley Park Hospital totalling £250,000 and we expect this figure to almost double over the next 3 years.
