The Prostate Project is a registered Charity established in 1998 by Colin Stokes who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1997. We are locally based and support and complement the Royal Surrey County Hospital, St Luke’s Cancer Centre and Frimley Park Hospital in funding facilities and staff to aid the detection and treatment of prostate cancer. In addition we endeavour to improve understanding and awareness of prostate cancer in the community at large.
We have a new patient support helpline open so if anyone close to you is suffering from prostate cancer or you would just like to have a confidential chat about the disease, please contact Mac Derwig on 01483 811878 (mobile 07971 855195), Peter Smale on 01252 714807 or Mrs Cassia Morris on 01483 526401 (mobile 07775 522377).
The Charity has made an important contribution to the quality of care now being provided in the region. At October 2003 we have raised a total approaching £560,000 (more up-to-date figures can be found in our regular newsletter on this site). We have no paid fund raisers and rely entirely on our own efforts and those of many volunteers. Every pound we receive flows straight to the point of need. Please send donations to our Chairman, Colin Stokes, at the address below.
